Petals

Petals. Still life with flying insect. More Photoshop fun! Drew this bug a couple of times, clipped this one from another art piece I did. Not sure what kind of bug it is; but it has wings, so it flies.

Why?

Digital experiments in Photoshop. No preconceived ideas, just start putting down color and see what happens. Fun to see the outcome and not worry about how it turns out.

I Feel...

The sum of life-preserving instincts that are manifested as impulses to gratify basic needs, as sublimated impulses, and as impulses to protect and preserve the body and mind compare death instinct.

In season

A recent little experiment in Photoshop with a Wacom tablet. Always trying to loosen up a bit with less  lines. For me this is hard, I will either start out with a full line drawing or outline every color I put down instead of just letting color and form take over the piece. Will play with this more.

Mr. Asbestos

A redundant logo on an old store door. A great place to shop if you would like to browse various types of fire and flames! I had fun doing this one and am thinking of doing more to create a series of old unrelevant logos on distressed backgrounds.

Digital vs. Traditional

This is a couple of pieces that started out as a digital study or concept for a piece that I wanted to paint and the final painting. I like different things about each of them as well as viewing them together. Same mindset, different mediums.

Sketches, Flip Faces and Tessellations

Lunchtime sketches of quick faces that can change mood when flipped upside down. Further study with patterns, I want to play with this a lot more.

Pencil sketches + Photoshop

Some sketches of a character I've been playing around with...
My son and I have been calling him "Creator of Destruction"
or "COD" for short. Yes, Cod like the fish, it seemed an appropriate name for a top heavy bumbling force of havoc.

I love to try to use disproportion, the bulking upper body of the Hulk with the legs of a Preteen boy. The killing power of Conan with the clumsiness of the Three Stooges.

Merry Christmas!

Don't indulge in to much holiday toad licking...

Hand inked, colored in photoshop.
